Piano Adventures Teacher Training — Seminar I, Ginsheim

Piano Adventures Teacher Training — Seminar I
Seminar Instructor:
David Andruss, docent, University of Würzburg

The Zentrum für Musik-Frühbildung in Ginsheim is pleased to offer teacher training with Faber Piano Adventures: an exciting and comprehensive student-centered piano method, which helps teachers to develop musical hearts and minds through analysiscreativity and expression.
Piano Adventures, the most widely‐used piano method in North America and in much of Asia, has set new standards of quality for pedagogical materials. This innovative method is now available in a German edition.

This two‐day seminar—the second of the three part teacher training program for the Basic Method Books—is packed full of  intensive, interactive work on the pedagogy and methodology of the pieces in the first two levels of the German Edition of the Piano Adventures Basic Piano Method books. Piano Adventures addresses the core issues for building a solid fundament right from the start:

  • ear training,
  • note‐reading,
  • the fundament for a relaxed and natural piano technique,
  • sight‐reading,
  • music theory and
  • improvisation

are taught in a student-centered, child-friendly manner, all the while maintaining the primary goal of fostering a joy of music-making at the piano.

In this seminar, you’ll profit directly from our years of experience with this method. In addition, you’ll receive valuable tips for the use of the books in one‐on‐one, partner, and group lessons, as well as creative ways to using the method’s multimedia tools and supplemental literature.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion for Piano Adventures Seminar I (levels 1 and 2) at the end of the seminar.

Seminars I, II and III can be attended in any order. After completing all three seminars, teachers may apply to become a certified Piano Adventures Teacher.
